About the Project

SHINE - Sustainable Strategies in Higher Education Internationalisation Towards Excellence in Namibia - is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) programme of the European Union. The project supports Namibian Higher Education Institutions in strengthening and harmonising their internationalisation efforts, with the aim of improving educational quality, employability, research prospects, and international collaboration.

SHINE aligns with the national priorities set out in Namibia's Vision 2030 and with EU priorities, including the Global Gateway Africa-Europe initiative and the Youth Mobility for Africa flagship. The project is committed to a decolonised approach to internationalisation, respecting and encouraging indigenous knowledge frameworks, with activities taking place primarily in Namibia and with a strong focus on satellite campuses to ensure access for all students and staff.

  • Sustainable institutional and national development: Enhancing the long-term capacity of Namibian Higher Education Institutions

  • Inclusive participation: Ensuring students, staff, and faculty at all partner institutions are active participants
