Luciano Kambala

Luciano Kambala has served at all levels within the organisation; first as the branch finance officer of the Kuisebmund Secondary School Branch, and then as the Gender and Social Welfare Officer of the Erongo Regional Executive Committee (REC). In the preceding term, he served as the Finance and Economics Officer for the same structure.

Following his time in Erongo REC he was appointed as the Chief Administrator in the Secretariat by then Secretary General, Comrade Simon Taapopi, then as a Technical Staff member responsible for Special Programmes. After demonstrating his capable leadership, Luciano acceded to the National Executive Committee (in 2019) as the Secretary for Finance and Economics, and served – within that term – as the acting Vice President, before being elected as the substantive Vice President by the 17th National Students Congress.

He is currently a Business Management (Honours) student at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), and intends to pursue postgraduate studies in the areas of youth development– additions to his Bachelors of Accounting Degree and Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the same university.

Having served in various capacities in different youth-led organisations, Luciano has a long and impeccable history and track record in student and youth leadership. These include – but are not limited to – his service as the Secretary General of the African Youth and Adolescents Network Namibia (AfriYAN), Country Representative in the African Union Youth Front on Corona Virus, and at the SADC Youth Forum, the African Union Youth Club Namibia (AUYC), the Junior Town Council of Walvis Bay and the NUST Accounting Society.
